Are you starting to rack your brain for ideas for your June social media calendar? Look no further! Below are 15 ideas for social media content in June, followed by a calendar with recommended posting dates. Let me know what you think of these ideas in the comments below!

Summer Post

June is the kick off of summer, so give a shout out to the warm weather and long summer days! Get creative about how you can incorporate your business or organization with summer - here are some examples:

  • Showcase a product that's great to use in summer months

  • Take a photo of an employee working outside, soaking up the summer rays

  • Share your summer routine

# ShoutOutSaturday

Hashtags aren't as valuable as they once were for engagement, but I sometimes use them just for content ideas. So keep or drop the hashtag, but take the inspo! Shout out someone you admire or who has done great work such as:

  • An employee

  • A local organization or small business that you think is doing cool things

  • A client and/or their work

World Environment Day

What does your company or organization do to help take care of or protect the environment? Are there tips you can give for people to use or dispose of your products more sustainably?

National Best Friends Day:

This is a fun holiday and a great opportunity to engage with your followers. Make a post a few days ahead of time asking people to tag their bestie for a chance to win a giveaway or to share a photo to be featured on best friends day.

Feel Good Friday:

People love a good reason to smile on Fridays! Post something uplifting or funny to bring some joy to the feed!

Mission Moment:

In addition to all these fun post ideas, you should be talking about your mission at least once a week. Just a reminder to have a mission moment and talk about why you do what you do!

Wise Wednesday:

Share a word of wisdom with your audience that relates to your company or organization. For example:

  • Share an interesting statistic about the work you're doing

  • Offer a piece of advice or a "hack" in your field of expertise

  • Share a quote from a leader in your field

Share the Love:

This is a reminder to be engaging with other accounts! Whether you share a post to your page, or comment and like posts, share the love by interacting with other business pages.

Father's Day:

Get personal. I often say people follow people, not businesses. Your followers care about the people behind your business or nonprofit, so share a little! Whether you feature employees who are fathers, your father, or your founding father... get a little personal and share a story for Father's Day.

Juneteenth:

Juneteenth is the celebration of Emancipation Day. Give a shout out to America's Second Independence Day! Although it's been celebrated for years by African American communities, it's only been widely celebrated as a holiday in the US more recently. You can read more about the holiday in this NYT article.

Summer Solstice:

The longest day of the year is ripe for plenty of post ideas! Make a list of things to do to on this long day, host a mid-summer event, or share a summer-inspired recipe or craft.

Pride Month:

June is Pride Month, so you may consider a post to show your support. If you're Cincinnati-based, the parade is on June 24th. If posting doesn't align with your organization's communication strategy, I recommend selecting not to post on this day.

In the Moment:

People value authenticity from businesses. Consider a "Day in the life" post just showing what a typical day looks like at your office or home office.

Why Wednesday:

Remind people why they follow you! Why should they care about your organization or business?

Social Media Day:

Though it's a bit of a silly holiday, June 30th is National Social Media Day. It's a great opportunity to turn to your followers and say thanks for following you and being a part of your story!
